Satisfaction by vietkatthroughlense Satisfaction by vietkatthroughlense
After a day of trekking around the mountain and the hill, one rejoiced in a bowl of water so peaceful and so contented it seemed the walk was a great accomplishment of a life time. Everyday, it's a satisfaction. The question then raised, is that all to be satisfied?

taken at Bac Ha, a different village from the 'Black Hmong' village from Sapa. Bac Ha is about 3 hrs drive from Sapa. The locals call them 'Red Hmong' because their clothes are mostly red and are most colorful than the 'Black Hmong'

Daily Deviation

Given 2008-08-18
The intricacies of the fabric shows alot of hard works have been placed in to making the clothes... mimicking how much harder the locals muster up to bring food to the table every day... only to end one tiring journey with a satisfying bowl of water. What else can be satisfied? Rejoicing in a work well done of course. Satisfaction by =vietkatthroughlense ( Featured by evanhwong )

Yours is one of the best images I have enjoyed, not just on dA :devart: but even in the galleries that I haunt, searching for treasures. I created a collection of these faves called "humanities." I love these so very much and wish I owned them all.

I am writing to let you know that I have put your deviation in my "shoutbox" to be displayed with every journal I write. I doubt it will ever be removed unless you ask me to remove it.

Thank you for your art! Thank you deeply. It waters my soul.

PS: Ok some might get this message on more than one deviation LOL You got "that" style!

The hand is at an awkward position, but I think I can bare it... I like how the background is black though and limits our area of focus to the person and what the person is doing... There are a myriad of lines, patterns, and they all create this movement throughout this photograph that is neat :)

Paragraph 1:
As everybody has mentioned it, the lighting is wonderfully casted on the subject, leaving little to no details in the background to fully showcase her looks. Although further recalibration of my monitor does show some odd degrading hue in the darkness on the right frame.

Paragraph 2:
The details of her traditional clothes (can't say costume now, can i?) is simply remarkable as it tells how life is in that part of the world where the comforts of wool and silk is what makes the locals move on with everyday life... that without it, it'll probably be more worthwhile to just stay in.

Paragraph 3:
The intricacies of the fabric shows alot of hard works have been placed in to making the clothes... mimicking how much harder the locals muster up to bring food to the table every day... only to end one tiring journey with a satisfying bowl of water. What else can be satisfied? Rejoicing in a work well done of course. :D

Painfully close to brilliant work...but you've heard all this from me before. You know I want to go to the shelf, take down this body of work and look at it one page at a time.
